Carlos is a software and data engineer who designs, builds, and operates high-performance backend and data systems.

I work the full lifecycle: architecture, implementation, deployment, testing, and infrastructure.

My work sits on three pillars. System design — end-to-end solutions spanning data models, storage, APIs, containerized services, CI/CD, and monitoring. Implementation — I code what I design, from databases and REST APIs to backend services and frontend components, mainly in Python and JavaScript/TypeScript, with hands-on work in Rust, Go, C, and Zig. Cloud infrastructure — I design and operate AWS and GCP with Terraform, plus monitoring and observability.

I use AI to speed up the work, but I am not a vibe coder. I build the foundations myself — architecture, core behavior, and data structures — and only then use AI to automate, review, and refine. That is how I keep control over quality.

I am based in Granada, Spain. Curious, proactive, and at home on a team: I like debating ideas, solving hard problems, and getting better at the craft.
